I'll knit for money

I've decided to throw caution to the wind, put myself on the line and open an Etsy store.

Please shop there. I need the cash. The stuff I make isn't so bad either. If you're not picky.

Here is my first offering:

Okay, so I only have one item up there so far because I took a seriously crappy photo of a very funky bag I made. Must redo that to do it justice.

Here is my Etsy shop. I kind of like the banner. Not bad for 30 minutes work.

Now I get to brag about the other things I've knit lately. Check it out:

This is the first (and only) sweater I have made, so far. It's for Hope when her birthday rolls around in September. Me? I like to start early.

And this is the funky bag photographed really badly. Still, I wanted to show it off. I love how the little cell phone/iPod holder turned out.

That's my Bring and Brag for tonight. If you know a newborn who is crying out for a strawberry hat, you know where I am.

That's awesome that you opened an Etsy store. Someone was telling me the other day that I should sell baby hats. Maybe I'll just sell them through your store and you can keep the money. I just like making the hats.

And you'll have to teach me to do colour work when you are visiting. I'm crappy at it but would like to learn how to do it properly. I was thinking of taking a class at the local knitting store, but apparently you can just show me!

Wow - I'm so impressed! I love Hope's sweater. I've been working on one for my nephew since November, and I'm not sure I'll ever finish. And it won't look as nice as Hope's!

I only seem to know boy infants now, but if you're up for an eggplant hat, or something more "male" I'd buy one!

Okay, we'll work on the colour work when I'm there. It isn't hard once you get the hang of it. I got good at it when I did that scarf that changed colours so many times. It's harder in the round but I've got it figured out now.

Jocelyn - I was actuallyt hinking of doing an eggplant hat next! I'll put your name on it!

Julie: I could do a big pumpkin hat for you if you want.

I have always thought of doing that you will have to let me know how it goes. I have a bunch of art sitting around that needs a home.

That's great Karen! I have been thinking about doing the same thing. I'm trying to get Mike moving on some wood stuff too. I've got lots of great ideas for him! I totally love the hat. Great work!! And the sweater too!

Way to go KK! Does this mean you can keep knitting without making it a "non-necessary activity" for the next two months? As soon as I find a baby to give it to, I'm buying a hat! It's AWESOME!

I love the pumpkin idea! We'll wait closer to the fall to see how giant his head gets.
